The area that
is currently being serviced by the Watertaxi is the first phase
of a project that must lead to a situation where over 20 taxiboats
will be able to take you to all thinkable, across water reachable
places in the Rotterdam region.
For companies and enterprises that are situated near the waterside
and who would like to have a landingstage nearby a study can be
made by us to examine the possibilities to meet their needs.
The floating basestation of Watertaxi Rotterdam is situated on the
head of the Wilhelminapier next to Hotel New York in Rotterdam.
The atmosphere there is one of work on the river, high and low tides,
wind and rain and skippers that come and go.

People arriving with
the watertaxi, embarking or staying a little longer. Where information
can be gathered about the watertaxiservices and of course about
other Rotterdam activities on the river like the Spido and the Fast
Ferry. Where there is a dockyard and a parking for the taxis and
an office.
The design of
the watertaxis HNY are based on the vintage Autoboat model, have
a loa of 7,30 with a 25pk Yanmar dieselengine and are constructed
by Company Tatje in Nieuwkoop.
The Maastaxis are develloped in close cooperation with experienced
skippers who sail them and know the river like the back of their
hands.
The upper part of the boats is designed
by the winner of a by Maastaxi organized international designcontest:
Huibert Groenendijk. The lower part is by Martin de Jager. The Maastaxis
are assembled by Devo in Rotterdam.
Measurements: 8.70m x 2,50m and a transitheight of 2.35m. It has
a 350pk Yanmar built in good for an ample 50km/h.

The taxis
are manned by skippers who have all the qualifications needed to
sail the Rotterdam waterways, known as being among the most difficult
in the world. The ships are inspected on a yearly basis and meet
the prescribed safetyregulations.
